My hubby likes to cook it in the microwave –
1 cup rice
2 cups hot water
Microwave on high 7 minutes, stir, wait 5 minutes.  Microwave on high 7 more minutes.
I prefer the oven
1 cup rice
2 cups water or bouillon
Bake at 350 covered for about 1  hr or until water is cooked off.

Subject: {casseroles_and_crockpots} one more rice
My husband is from South Carolina and was reared on rice. I had to
learn to make it when we were first married. I have been married 49
years and have never ever had a problem with it and make it at least
once a week. This is what I do:
2 cups water
bring to boil and add salt
when boiling add 1 cup rice
stir once
put on lid--turn stove to simmer and cook 20-25 minutes.
I have used various rices but for about 20 years only used Uncle
Ben's--NOT INSTANT. I have never had Uncle Ben's stick or turn out
anything but great. Uncle Ben's is long grain. You can also buy medium
grain, short grain, jasmine, arborio, etc. Cal Rose is a good brand
too. I use all kinds.
I use short grain sometimes and it will be stickier. Short grain to me
is better for rice pudding.
You can use various broths and flavorings for the rice. 2:1 ratio
remember if you want more rice.
Now there are just the two of us I put leftovers in the frig and heat it
in the microwave for another day. If too many days you can freeze it.
Good luck!
