Dawood tasked to kill Advani, Modi'
New Delhi: The government has intelligence reports saying that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim has been tasked to kill senior BJP leader L K Advani and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, and their security was reviewed by Union Home Ministry officials here today.
Both Advani, NDA's prime ministerial candidate for Lok Sabha polls, and Modi now have the highest category of security cover -Z-plus -from Black Cat commandos of the elite National Security Guards.
The meeting expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements for the two leaders, sources said.
The intelligence inputs about heightened threat perception of Modi were conveyed to the Gujarat government which has been asked to take necessary steps for his security, they said.
Dawood has been declared a global terrorist by the United States.
