MISS WEST VIRGINIA USA 2008
Skylene Montgomery of Parkersburg was crowned the 2008 Miss West Virginia USA. Skylene is the 22 year old daughter of Skylar and Darlene Montgomery, a graduate of Marshall University and a CNA at St. Mary's Hospital. She enjoys watching Ellen and Oprah while working out, as well as, shoe shopping, scrapbooking, competing in figure competitions and cooking. She is involved in numerous volunteer activities including Katrina Relief, Breast Cancer Awareness, Friendship Kitchen and Relay for Life among many others. Her ambition is to complete her Master's degree in Nursing and work for a cardiac rehabilitation clinic.
Crowned by Miss West Virginia USA 2007, Kasey Montgomery, Skylene will represent the Mountain State at the annual MISS USA Pageant, which will be broadcast live on NBC Television in April 2008.
The balance of the "Top 5" were: First Runner-up, Sarah Hart of Dunbar; Second Runner-up, Heather Marie Hostutler of Bridgeport; Third Runner-up, Lindsay Weaver of Buckhannon; Fourth Runner-up, Gabrielle Valentina Colombo of Bluefield. The Semi-Finalists were: Celestine Renee Le Noir of Martinsburg; Erica Jade Goldsmith of Mineral Wells; Kristina Marie Baker of Petersburg; Hanna Danielle Law of Grantsville; Jessica Schueler of Jumping Branch; Britanni Chase Mills of Huntington; Tanayia Simpson of Handley.
Skylene Montgomery was also named Miss Photogenic and Ashley Reed was voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.
