How to stop cough in 5 minutes!!  Mystery analysis

How to stop cough in 5 minutes!!

WOW! I was raised, and raised my kids with Vicks. How come I never knew this? I can't wait for my next cough. Amazing!

READ IT ALL. It works 100 percent of the time, although the scientists at the Canada Research council (who discovered it) aren't sure why.

The  world which is still researching, but our grandamas have  already put in practice. If you have closely watched them , when they give bath to babies  with luke warm water, they rub the body with oil containing little camphor. While making them sleep they rub chest and the sole with eucalyptus oil and cover  with blanket or towel  When the kid is suffering with cold they squeeze the eucalyptus tree leaves and instill a few drops in the nose. We never pondered about it.  The researcher have taken a cue and patented in the name of vicks. What are the major ingredients that consist of vicks?

Ingredients

Active Ingredients (Purpose)
Camphor 4.8% (Cough suppressant and topical analgesic)
Eucalyptus oil 1.2% (Cough suppressant)
Menthol 2.6% (Cough suppressant and topical analgesic)

Inactive Ingredients
Cedarleaf oil, nutmeg oil, special petrolatum, thymol, turpentine oil

Uses

  • On chest and throat, temporarily relieves cough due to common cold

  • On muscles and joints, temporarily relieves minor aches and pains

Camphor is a white transparent waxy crystalline solid with a strong penetrating pungent aromatic odor. It is found in wood of the camphor laurel, Cinnamonum camphora, which is a large evergreen tree found in Asia (particularly in Borneo, hence its alternate name); it can also be synthetically produced from oil of turpentine. It is used for its scent, as an embalming fluid and for medicinal purposes. It has calming properties.

Camphor is readily absorbed through the skin and produces a feeling of cooling similar to that of menthol and acts as slight local anesthetic; however, it is poisonous when ingested and can cause seizures, mental confusion, irritability, and neuromuscular hyperactivity.

Menthol's uses are related to its stimulation of the skin's cold receptors. This property makes menthol produce a cooling effect when inhaled or applied to the skin. menthol does not actually change the skin's temperature, but merely produces the sensation of temperature and stimulates heat receptors. Because of its cooling effect, menthol is used in products meant to relieve skin irritation, sore throat, or nasal congestion. It may be used to treat sunburn, fever, or muscle aches as well.

Eucalyptus is a  mature as a low shrub or as a very large tree.  The oil is extracted from its leaves.  Eucalyptus is commonly used in remedies to treat coughs and the common cold. It can be found in many lozenges, cough syrups, rubs, and vapor baths Ointments containing eucalyptus leaves are also applied to the nose and chest to relieve congestion. Eucalyptus oil helps loosen phlegm, so many health care providers recommend inhaling eucalyptus vapors to help treat bronchitis, coughs, and the flu.

Because eucalyptus has such a sharp, pungent aroma, some aromatherapists recommend using it like smelling salts to revive someone who has fainted. Generally, most aromatherapists suggest placing a drop or two of eucalyptus oil on a cloth and holding it under the nose of the individual who has fainted. Eucalyptus oil is also rich in cineole (a potent antiseptic that kills bacteria responsible for bad breath), so some professional herbalists may also recommend diluted eucalyptus tinctures to treat bad breath.

It is no wonder if the combination works so well to soothe  the cold and cough.

Side Dish : At the time of checking in  an American  air port the checking staff found aa vicks bottle in my check in baggage. When asked I exolained its vicks used for commen cold treatment.  But the staff said it is a gel and he can not permit to take it and threw in garbage.
