I received the article by Kiran Krishnan forwarded to my E-mail. I was sad to note the present condition of Kerala that I predicated in the mid 1960s has become a reality. I spend 2 years in Ernakulam and as an anthropologist studied and recorded the worsenning conditions. ( Child Care in A Developing Community. Vantage Press, NY 1969). It is ironical that Kerala: the Cradle of Civilization dating back to 50,000 years and evolved as the "God's True Country" end up as Satan's Haven!
This is happening all around India. I feel that it is due to lack of understanding our glorious history and traditions that British started to destroy and the Indians ( brown sahibs) after Independence continued for their own betterment at the expence of the majority.
I feel that we have to reinstate and educate the present Indians about their heritage as the initial step to revive our past glory and establish our unique place in human drama. I hope that the few attachments will act a primer in this mission impossible.
