Re: [Keralites] ++++++ MANASSIL ORU NEETAL +++++++

Sreeja,

Indian never had Valentines' Day, Mothers' day, Fathers' day or even the Thanksgiving Day until recent past.

Valentines' day is a recent revival of a hypothetic personality, someone created in 1400-s and does not refer to any historical person.

Mother's Day and father's day are American inventions to facilitate the children to know who their parents are at least once a year. This was necessitated as the marriages and divorces are so frequent that at times the first wife comes back as the nth. wife and might not remember her husband. What about children for whom and when they were born, as mostly they are brought up separately after the divorces. So, once a year the siblings send roses and call their biological parents as a remembrance!!

Thanksgiving Day is celebrated for the victory of the Whites over the Red Indians massacred and the heads were heaped at the City Centre and Whites were playing soccer with these heads and thanked Jesus for giving them victory over non-believers!! This was the origin of Thanksgiving Day.

You know who was Bishop Douglas of Rome, who was a thug intimidating all other Bishops attending the Nice conference convened by King Constantine and the Bishop of Rome to organise Christianity in 300AD? before that there was no Christianity and Gospels of today. Bishop Douglas physically intimidated Bishops from Alexandria and others who wanted real Gospels to be accepted like Gospel of Philip, Gospel of Thomas and even Goispel of Magdalene!!

Bishop Douglas is remembered as Santa Claus today!! And so popular for Children, a burly bouncer of those days worshipped now!!

Nammal aakhoshikkunnathokke nammude ishtamanu. Paksshe, athineppatti shariyayittu arinjittuvenam santhoshappedan!!

hey Sreeja,

If we celebrate each day as a special day...then all 365 days in an year we can
find each event like beggersday, politicians day, businessman day, ladies day, mothers day, fathers day, brothers day, sisters day, kids day, teachers day, advocates day, doctors day, engineers day, husband day, wife day etc etc....and if you are going to buy greeting cards, flowers, pendent, and other kind of gift in each day then... how will you eat daily???

Dear Friend,

I am sorry I dont have malayalam font so please forgive me for writing this reply in English...

Why do we have birthday, mother's day, father's day, friendship day, rakshabhandan etc. Arent we living everyday? Dont we love our father and mother everyday? dont we care for our friends?? same thing for siblings too. The basic reason we give importance to these days is to show them we recognise they are there for us...and want to present a token of appreciation maybe a card or some flowers... which portray at times what we dont tell or show each other. It is especially for those people to remember to do something that they may have ignored in their daily race of life( perhaps in the western culture). Its true the young generation uses it in a different manner... but thats a phase which they will recover from... just take it as a part of growing up. If you havent wished anyone "happy valentine's day" till date, good for you... but if that simple wish can brighten up someone's day (maybe even of an orphan) dont take that away from them... Please attempt to see the good side of things at times...

Regards
